not so sunshiny

Florida is known as the Sunshine State...you wouldn't know it this summer, though.  It has rained nearly every day and not just a little.  I have lost track of the flood watches and warnings our area has been issued. 

One day, during a break in the rain, we noticed that the wind had completely stopped.  The bay was as smooth as glass and you could see under the water perfectly...

It was so beautiful, a very different look at the normally choppy water...

We watched fish jumping out of the water.  They were much easier to spot with everything so still...

The stillness only lasted a few minutes before the wind picked back up...

The "window" closed and we could no longer see through the water...

Another day, I had noticed the wind really picking up outside...

I walked out in the yard to check it out and noticed some really stormy looking clouds heading our way...

Then, I noticed a water spout trying to form!  It was spinning and twirling, but thankfully it never got itself together all the way...

Just a minute or so later I had to dash inside, the rain had once again arrived...

It may be a rainy summer, but that's ok.  Rain or shine, Florida is always beautiful...we're doing our best to enjoy every last minute of our time here :).
