All Around Nassau...Part II

Instead of our taxi tour of Nassau being over, we headed off to yet another part of the island.  Miss Patricia, our driver, was great.  She had originally quoted us a certain time for our tour...and ended up pretty much doubling it for no extra charge.  Awesome :)!

riding in the taxi while admiring the sword he bought at the Straw Market :)

She showed us many of the government buildings around town...

We headed out past the Fish Fry and Junkanoo Beach...

...Fort Charlotte and the Bob Marley Resort...

She showed us one of her favorite views :).  Beautiful....

Then she took us to the caves at Cable Beach.  One of the first things that you see is a large, sea shell covered throne...

...just beyond the throne is the entrance to the caves...

If you go inside, keep a look out for the fruit bats.  We saw several farther back in...

tales of pirates and treasures that have been sheltered within the caves...

Back on the surface there is a little stand where you can get an ice-cold fresh fruit smoothie.  He threw in an assortment of fruits, some coconut water, a handful of ice, and gave it all a whirl in the blender.  Sooo... refreshing :)!

the view :)

Tyler and Miss Patricia :)

How the drink stand is powered...generator and a can of gas!  And yes, my Tyler moves around a lot :).

It was getting kinda late in the day, so Miss Patricia asked us where we wanted to be dropped off.  We hadn't had any lunch yet (and it was time for supper, oops!), so we had her take us back to the ship...

Steering wheel is on the opposite side of the car than in the US :)

the hallway going to our rooms...loooooooooong

We stayed on board just long enough to drop our stuff at our room, grab a bite to eat, then we turned right back around and headed back into the city on foot...

all the colors on so many of their buildings... <3

We intended to walk to Junkanoo Beach to dip our toes and watch the sunset, but changed our minds about 3/4 of the way there and turned back around (there was an activity on the ship that the kids decided they would rather do instead).  We took the scenic route back and dawdled for a while along the water's edge...

There were folks unloading their catch from boats and setting the creatures along the walls for sale.  We stopped to chat and ended up buying a few of the beautiful shells.  The pink inside the conchs in the Bahamas is so vivid.  I like it a lot :)...

Back to the ship for the last time that day, we finally realized just how tired our legs were :)...

some of my favorite colors...sun and sea :)

There was a surprise waiting for us in our rooms!  I'll tell you all about it and the rest of our evening next time :)...
