Mid August 2012

We have spent the past year living in a rental house in the Black Hills of South Dakota, so that is where our road trip began.  We decided to spend our first week in the 5th wheel in a familiar area, so we got a site at the Custer KOA.  Everything went very well and the week was spent swimming at the pool, riding bikes, and enjoying fall in the hills.

Then the really fun part came...instead of packing up the camper and heading back to normal life, we pulled out of Custer and headed for "anywhere we wanted to go".  We decided only hours before heading out that Buffalo, Wyoming would be our next stop.

We got to Buffalo that evening and found a nice shady spot for the next few nights. The lady that checked us in was really nice and put us in an end spot that had a large grassy area with a picnic table and several trees.  The kids enjoyed the playground, tether ball, and the pool.

Right after arriving, before our slides were out.  The grassy area on the other side was more than twice as big.
