After spending the morning in northern California, it was time to head back north into southern Oregon. To the beach, of course :)...
Just above Brookings and right off of 101 we found gold. Beach gold...
Harris Beach State Park was absolutely WONDERFUL. One of our favorite beaches of all times for sure...
The beach itself was clean and looooong...
...plenty of room to run (and run and run and run)....
...and no shortage of neat things to find and explore...
The rocks...
The sea caves...
The creeks and giant driftwood logs...
*sigh* So dreamy :).
The farther we ventured, the richer the beach proved to be. Just before it was time for us to leave, we stumbled upon one particular rock that was home to all sorts of sea creatures. Starfish clinging to the salty stones...
...nearby were the bright green anemone with their strange little suction cup fingers...
...and heavily sprinkled across the top of it all was an assortment of (sharp!) barnacles and such...
Then there was this guy:
So ugly! Haha! No clue what that one is.
We wished for time to slow down so that we could stay there longer. When that didn't work, we immediately began planning our return visit. Harris Beach State Park has campsites and yurts (!!!) for rent, we have ALWAYS wanted to stay on the oregon coast in a yurt!
Yes, indeed...southern Oregon is definitely on our "we must come back" list :)
